Drive Train: direct to 4" Colsons

Armor: Various
Motor controller: 2 x Victor 883
Weapon:  3 lb rotating disk made from a barbell weight.  Driven by an Astroflight Cobalt 40.

Here is a shot of the internals of Sunflower.

It is really quite a simple bot, not much in there really even needs explanation.

Sunflower attended the amazingly awesome NERC HSRC competition in Philadelphia in March 2002.  Sunflower's weapon did very well, but had continual problems with its drill-based drivetrain, and cam in 5th or 6th place I think, including holding its own against much-admired NERC bots like Thing and SnowCone.

This picture is from Saturday night as, with much-appreciated help from Ted and Pete of Team Cosmos, I scrape crunchy pieces of broken gears out of a gearbox.  Top priority is upgrading the drive motors to something more reliable.
