Retired Combat Robots |
|
Combat robots get destroyed, outdated, and new design
ideas take the place of old. We remember the old
warriors with fondness.

Daisy / Margarita
Lightweight (60
lbs) |
|
Daisy was our first robot, and the namesake of the
team. A Lightweight designed for competition at
BattleBots, the concept was a boxy wedge with a spinning
horizontal disk. Daisy's overall combat record was
4-6.
Daisy is retired, replaced by the new Lightweight,
Buttercup.

Daffodil
Hobbyweight (12 lbs) |
|
Daffodil was our first small bot. It was
originally supposed to be a model of a planned
Heavyweight, but the Heavyweight's design got changed
before Big Daffodil got built. Daffodil's overall
combat record was 7 wins, 6 losses.
Daffodil is retired, but could make a comeback
someday.

Cupcake
Antweight (1 lb) |
|
Cupcake was a miniature version of the bot
Helios built by my friends, Team Cosmos.
It competed at the BattleAnts exhibition at
BattleBots 5.0 in May, and was driven by my friend Andy
Miller. Unfortunately, it had control problems and lost
right away to Team Toad's fearsome El Furro. After
repairs, it competed at the UMURL event in July 2002,
where it did much better. At Steel Conflict,
Cupcake lost in an early round to my friend Pete
Covert's bot Country Squire, but then worked its
way up through the loser's bracket.
With a total combat record of 16 wins, 4 losses,
Cupcake's mangled body was retired.
