Buttercup Build Report

After saying a tearful goodbye to Daisy, the first HappyRobot, I hoped for better results with a new Lightweight design.

After going 0-2 at Steel Conflict 2, it's kind of a rocky start.

Journey of thousand miles begins with single step.  I like to make power distribution modules out of aluminum bar stock with tapped holes.
The rather complicated weapon motor assembly, which also supports the drive motors.
The frame, with power switch.
Drivetrain in place.  Four DeWalts connected to the wheels with #35 chain.

And with the weapon motor assembly attached as well.
With battery packs and wiring.  Originally, it was supposed to use four victors, but I ran out of room and weight, so that got cut to two.
Speaking of running out of weight, I got a pound by making holes in the drumette's endcaps -- a laborious job.
An endcap with the pulley attached.
The finished bot, without the top.
